Advanced Neuromodulation

We change how the brain works, not just how you feel.

The deepest interventional program in the region. Targeted, non-invasive techniques that act on the specific brain circuits behind depression, OCD, PTSD, and more.

Insurance accepted for TMS.
The Science

Treating the circuitry, not just the chemistry.

Medication changes the chemistry of the brain. Neuromodulation changes the activity of the circuits themselves. We use focused magnetic fields, mild electrical currents, and biomarker-guided feedback to retrain the networks that drive psychiatric illness — without surgery and without sedation.

This is the work our practice was built on. We were among the first in the country to use TMS for psychiatric illness, and we have added each new modality as the evidence earned it. Our physicians research these treatments, publish on them, and teach them to the doctors who deliver them elsewhere. You are treated by the people who help write the standards.

Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS)

Magstim figure-8 TMS treatment coil

The most proven neuromodulation treatment we offer.

TMS uses focused magnetic pulses to restore normal activity in the brain regions tied to depression. Non-invasive, non-systemic. You stay awake through each session and drive yourself home after. We have delivered TMS since 2010 and treated hundreds of patients with treatment-resistant depression. FDA-cleared for major depressive disorder, anxious depression, and OCD.

Neuromodulation

PRISM — neuromodulation guided by your own brain.

PRISM is the first FDA-cleared neuromodulation treatment for PTSD built on a brain-derived biomarker. The science is the distinction. Using synchronized EEG and fMRI data, the system builds a marker tied to your own amygdala activity — the part of the brain that drives the fear response in PTSD.

In each session you wear an EEG cap, and with the help of interactive computer software you learn to lower your amygdala activity in real time, training the brain to regulate its own response to stress. No medication, no surgery, no reliving the trauma in detail. PRISM runs as an adjunct alongside the rest of your treatment, typically across a short course of sessions.

Use a mental strategy

Train your brain on what it feels like to be calm and regulated.

02

See your brain respond

Watch your brain adapting to your thoughts in real time.

Neuromodulation

Vagal & Cranial Nerve Stimulation

Cranial nerve stimulation has shown psychiatric benefits. Mild stimulation applied to nerves in the ear and face reaches the brain networks that regulate mood and the stress response. It is gentle, non-invasive, and used on its own or to support TMS and other treatments when a case calls for it. Your physician decides where it fits.

We are not limited to non-invasive options. We partner with our colleagues in neurosurgery to determine whether a vagal nerve stimulator is the right option for you.

Neuromodulation

tDCS, Biofeedback & More

The program does not end with the treatments above. We use transcranial direct current stimulation (tDCS), biofeedback, and other techniques to round out a plan.

Biofeedback teaches you to influence your own heart rate, breathing, and muscle response — skills that hold up long after the sessions end. We add new modalities when the science supports them, often years before they reach general practice. If a treatment can help you and we trust the evidence, you will find it here.

Why Integrative Psychiatry

The authority behind the treatment.

Knowing who to treat, with which modality, and when, is the difficult part of psychiatric practice. That is what we offer with over a hundred years of combined experience.

What to Know

How payment works.

We accept insurance for TMS. Our team handles that side and tells you what to expect before treatment begins. Our other neuromodulation services are fee-for-service. If cost is a question, ask us, and we will walk you through it before you commit to anything.
